MANDELL’S GALLERY
Mandell's Gallery at Elm Hill, Norwich was founded around 1967 by Geoffrey Allen (1920-2005) and Brian Michael McKee (1933-), who retired from the business in 1976, they also had the gallery P Polak in King Street, St James's, London. Originally specialising in the Norwich School of Painters such as Crome and Cotman and Suffolk artists, the gallery now has a diverse collection of traditional and contemporary Fine Art. Mandell’s has three distinct rooms; the Reception Gallery, displaying traditional paintings and two gallery spaces showing contemporary exhibitions which change every four weeks. The gallery has a strong emphasis on East Anglian Contemporary artists. Royal Academy Schools East Anglia Group and the East Anglian Group of Marine Artists have held exhibitions at Mandell's and other Suffolk artists who have exhibited include Lucy Bell; Jenny Creasy; John Crossley; Richard Dack; Amanda Edgcombe; Rosemary Elliott; Douglas Paul Farthing; Katherine Hamilton; Bridget Heriz-Smith; Doug Kemp; Martin Richard Laurance; Ian Piper; David Porteous-Butler; Catherine Richardson; Sula Rubens; Claudia Silva; Brüer Tidman; Raymond Watson; Brian Whelan; Rhonda Whitehead and many others.
