BELL, Lucy
Lucy Jane Bell was born at Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire in 1958. Lucy trained at the Ruskin School of Art at Oxford and obtained a postgraduate diploma from the Royal Academy Schools in 1987 when she exhibited one of her works. Her awards include the Egerton Coghill Landscape Prize, David Murray Landscape Scholarship, and a British Council Travel Scholarship to Bulgaria 1988-1989. A painter of colourful abstract works, with reference to textiles and collage and has exhibited at Logos Gallery in 1997 and at deliArt in 2003, she also contributed to exhibitions at Gallery One, London and Modigliani Centre, Florence in 2002. She now exhibits with the Royal Academy Schools East Anglia Group, all former students at the R.A. Schools, also in Suffolk at Suffolk Open Studios, Halesworth Gallery; Peter Pears Gallery, Aldeburgh; [[Re+New Gallery,6544]], Woodbridge and in Norfolk at Mandell’s Gallery, Norwich. Lucy now lives and works from her studio at Lawshall, Bury St Edmund's.
