TAPLIN GALLERY
The Denis Taplin Gallery at 68 Thoroughfare, Woodbridge was opened by Denis Taplin (1935-2022) in 1987, selling local artwork, prints, ceramics, sculptures, jewellery and greetings cards. As the Taplin Gallery from around 2014 Marianne Steer ran the Gallery. After severe flooding of the premises in 2019, the gallery lost most of their artwork and as a result the Steer family owners, decided to discontinue trading. Suffolk artists who exhibited with the Taplin Gallery include Martin Howard Battye, Liz Bestic, Yvonne Drewry, Moira Hazel, Nicki Holt, Barrie Houghton,Christopher Humphries, Valerie Irving, Mona Jupp, Claire Lambert, Stephanie Lambourne, Sophie Elinor Martin, Judy Mattin, Ian Moore, Malcolm Moseley, Clare Rizzo, Colin Slee, David Thompson and Verity Anne Wookey.
