JUPP, Mona

Mona I. Jupp was born and educated in Sweden, continuing her art education in Britain including study under Stanley Clifford-Smith (1906-1968), one of the Great Bardfield, Essex group of artists. Much of Jupp’s earlier work was inspired by the northern forests and the sometimes almost mystical natural remains of more primitive times with her more recent paintings reference to nature are still present. She works in oil, acrylic and mixed media. After moving to East Anglia she was a member of the Ipswich Art Society and exhibited from 'White Heather', Sandy Lane, Woodbridge in 1997, two pictures one untitled and 'On the Shore' and in 2006 'River Side', she has also exhibited in mixed exhibitions at Deben Gallery, Woodbridge; Halesworth Gallery at Steeple End, Halesworth; Quay Theatre Gallery, Sudbury; Boundary Gallery Cottage, Framlingham; Taplin Gallery, Woodbridge; Neville Gallery, Canterbury; Clock House Arts at Snape and the Mall Galleries, London. She has been showing her work at Thompson's Gallery in Aldeburgh and London since 1999 and has had solo shows in Sweden. She has also had paintings selected by the Art Critic and Arts Editor of the Spectator 'Liz Anderson' of the ING Discerning Eye Exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London 2013. She has works in private collections in Britain and U.S.A. as well as in Scandinavia.
