CORK BRICK GALLERY
Cork Brick Gallery at 6 Earsham Street, Bungay, Suffolk was established in 1990 and was situated in the heart of the Waveney valley in the attractive market town of Bungay. The name was chosen as the gallery is by Cork Bricks alleyway, named many years ago after a local Town Reeve’s wife was taken sick when cork bricks were laid between the cobbles to deaden the sound of the passing carriages. The Gallery showed a range of local professional artists and talented up and coming new artists with regular exhibitions of single and mixed shows. The gallery artists included Tessa Newcomb, Margaret Thomas, Lizzie Riches, Georgina Warne, Dee Nickerson, and Nicola Slattery and sculptor Bobbie Watchorn and many others. Cork Brick Art & Antiques in Bungay closed in March 2023.
