THEODOROU, Patricia
Patricia Theodorou was born in London in 1945, her mother was a professional wildlife artist and Pat had a great advantage growing up surrounded by a variety of painting materials. In the late 1960s and early 1970s she exhibited in a St Ives gallery in Cornwall but after running her own art gallery and working for another gallery, only painted intermittently until the 1990s when she began exhibiting in London and the provinces. Pat paints, landscapes, interiors, and figures both at home and abroad and is a regular visitor to Venice and Rome and has a passion for the pine trees of Rome and Southern Italy. She has also taken a strong interest in printing, etching, and endeavours to pass on her enthusiasm for printing techniques. She has also worked as a garden designer writing for gardening magazines as a freelance contributor. Pat has lived in Oxfordshire, Herefordshire, Somerset, and Gloucestershire and, as Patricia Bellsham, married at Henley, Oxfordshire in 1979, the writer Michael Theodorou and in 2014 they settled at Bungay in Suffolk. A member of the Suffolk Open Studios she has exhibited at Malvern Hills Gallery; Gloucestershire Society of Artists; Bath Society of Artists; Mall Galleries, London; Royal West of England Academy; First-View Gallery, Stourhead and elsewhere. Her work is held in private collections worldwide.
