FITZROY, Cornelia
As Cornelia A. Garnett, she was born at Kensington, London on 11 September 1962, daughter of Peter Garnett, her mother's maiden name was Hill. Cornelia was educated at Priors Field, Godalming, Surrey and studied at Byam Shaw School of Art and at Chelsea School of Art, graduating with a B.A. (hons) in Graphics and Illustration. She married in Surrey in 1987, Michael Robert Charles Fitzroy, and they have a son and a daughter. As Cornelia Fitzroy, a landscape artist based in Norfolk and lives at Hackney Cottage, Fressingfield, Suffolk. Cornelia is a member of Group Eight, a collective of eight Norfolk painters, who meet regularly for life drawing sessions. She has had solo shows at the John Russell Gallery, Ipswich; Graham & Oldham Gallery, Ipswich; John Stocks 21st Century Gallery, Bungay, Suffolk; Gallery 44, Aldeburgh, and the Aldeburgh Gallery, Suffolk and at the Theatre Royal Norwich with many other exhibitions including at the Royal Academy; Affordable Art Fair, Battersea; Cork Brick Gallery, Bungay; Mall Galleries, London; the Association of Illustrators; Osborne Studio Gallery, 2 Motcomb Street, London, and elsewhere.
