Originally the Tudor House Gallery at 143 High Street, Aldeburgh, Suffolk was opened by Derek Chambers, who came to live in the area in 1994 and held its first solo exhibition in the then the Tudor House Gallery in 1997. The name was changed to the Aldeburgh Gallery Aldeburgh, Suffolk and is a venue for contemporary, applied, and visual arts, at the heart of East Anglia's Suffolk Heritage Coast. The gallery can be hired, for exhibitions, throughout the year. New and established artists exhibit, with many returning annually. Other exhibitors include Arts Organisations, London galleries, and touring shows. Aldeburgh is renowned as a centre of excellence for music and the arts, with festivals throughout the year both at Snape Maltings and in Aldeburgh itself, as well as an annual literary festival, film festival, and a poetry festival. Many Suffolk artists have exhibited at the Aldeburgh Gallery including the Rendham Arts Group.
