INSTITUTE OF EAST ANGLIAN ARTISTS

2012 - 2023

The Institute of East Anglian Artists (IEA) was established in 2012 to represent established and up-and-coming artists who live in the area. It aimed to provide a focus for artistic excellence, raise the profile of the arts in the region, and inspire and encourage the teaching of them. The IEA organised regular exhibitions for its full and associate members, as well as an annual open exhibition for those in the area wishing to be represented by the Institute. Their member artists also represent the IEA as tutors, offering demonstrations to the public in various mediums and styles. Suffolk artist exhibitors or members include Sue Arnold, Michele Ashby, Lillias August, Klair Bauly, Rosemary Carruthers, Margaret Glass, John Glover, David Harrison, Mita Higton, Stephen Higton, Raymond Leech, John Patchett, James Power, Karen Turner, Mark Ward and Patrick Wilkins. On 30 December 2023, the Institute closed and ceased trading.
