INSPIRED BY BECKER ART SOCIETY
The Inspired by Becker Art Society was formed in 2015, two years after the first exhibition was held at St Peter's Church, Wenhaston, Suffolk in 2013, a village where Harry Becker lived from 1913 to 1924. The principal aim of the Society has been to raise awareness of the work of Harry Becker within the art world and amongst the public, and to run events such as the annual exhibition which celebrate his contribution to painting and printmaking in the early years of the 20th century and highlight contemporary responses to his painting style. Suffolk artist members included Jillifar Amor, Anna Badar, Malcolm Cudmore, Susan Debnam, Mary Gundry, Jo Lowrie; James Power, Simon Turner, Joy Wilson and Loraine Wilson. The Inspired by Becker Art Society closed in October 2022.
