Anna Badar

Anna D. Badar, was born in London. She studied at Harrow School of Art and later at Winchester School of Art graduating in 1975 with a B.A. (hons) in Woven Textiles. Anna later worked as a teacher and designer in Malaysia 1975–1983, and on returning to the U.K. was a full-time teacher of Fine Art at Merchant Taylors’ School, Northwood 1985-2009. Anna studied privately with London based painter Oliver Bevan (born 1941) 1991-1998 and in 1991 joined Indigo Arts, leading to a succession of group exhibitions in and around London and St Ives, Cornwall and she also took courses for the St Ives School of Painting 1992-2007. In 2009 she retired to Suffolk spending time developing her work, heavily inspired by the landscape with the expansive beauty of the skies, fields and woodland around the Blyth Valley and all along the coast near Dunwich. Marks and textures dominate in her work in an explorative approach to painting and printmaking, always aiming to express imaginatively the dynamic but quiet majesty of the Suffolk landscape. A former member of the Easterly Artists and since 2009 exhibits regularly in annual group shows at The Cut Halesworth; Halesworth Gallery; Inspired by Becker Art Society and elsewhere and is represented by Frivoli Gallery, Chiswick, London. Her works are in private collections in the UK, France, Malaysia, Japan, USA, and Australia.
