Marilyn Jackson

As Marilyn A. Lamb, she was born at Woodford, Essex in 1948, daughter of Leslie Thomas Lamb (1920-1995) and his wife Joan A. née Wells, who married at Woodford Bridge, Essex in 1943. Marilyn married at Redbridge, Essex in 1969, Robert P. Jackon and paints under the name of Marilyn Jackson. She studied at Goldsmiths College gaining a Certificate in Education, Anglia Ruskin for a diploma, University of East London for a Certificate in Fine Art and at Cambridge for a Master degree. After 35 years in Creative and Performing Arts Education and Art Education based academic research, Marilyn has spent most of her life in Essex, living and teaching in Redbridge and West Essex until her retirement in 2007, when she came to Suffolk and set up her own practice and is also a guide for the Sainsbury Centre for the Visual Arts UEA in Norwich. Marylyn paints in mixed media also in acrylic, collage, digital art, drawing, etching, printmaking and lino prints and her work is rooted in observations of the natural and made world especially bird forms and circular/spiral forms. Mono printing,dye and resist,photo montage and digital manipulation are used to initiate work alongside drawing,photography and creative writing. A full member of Suffolk Open Studios from Vista, Puddingmoor, Beccles also a member of Old Dairy Studios Beccles and exhibits at Swan House, Pond Gallery Snape and Aldeburgh Gallery. www.marilynjacksonart.co.uk
