Anna Toppin

As Anna Jane Glynn, she married at London in 1986, Michael Gordon Toppin and paints under the name of Anna Toppin. Anna studied at Wimbledon School of Art, gaining a Diploma in Fine Art in 1974 and at Goldsmiths College, the University of London, for a Certificate in Education. Anna worked for many years as a Set Designer for the BBC and London Weekend TV, on programmes which included ‘Dempsey and Makepeace’, 'The Charmer' and 'Poirot'. She has also published a novel ‘The Silver Kitten Party’ and has worked for Screen East. After bringing up her daughters, she returned to painting and etching approaching her work with a designer's eye with decoration, her main aim specifically designed to be viewed as decoration. A member of the Print Makers Council and her work has been shown at Affordable Art Fair in Singapore, also at Chicago, Brussels, Milan, and Hampstead. She exhibited at the Ipswich Art Society in 2019 two etching/aquatints 'Emma Loves me in Purple' and 'Black Swan'. Anna had a studio at Watering Pond, 165a, Saxmundham Road, Aldeburgh, Suffolk when she exhibited at Aldeburgh Studio Trail; Art For Cure, Sudbourne Park Printmakers and Peter Pears Gallery, Aldeburgh but now lives and works at Mistley in Essex.
