ALDEBURGH STUDIO TRAIL

2013 - ?

Aldeburgh Studio Trail was founded in 2013 by Reet Gildray and Lamorna Good, who were inspired to create the trail as there were many artists living in and around the area. Each year some thirty artists open their studios to the public, showing painting, photography, printing, jewellery, pottery, and mixed media, with all work for sale. Timed to coincide with The Aldeburgh Festival, as year after year many thousands of people have enthusiastically walked around the studios of these Suffolk based artists which are within walking distance, with cafes, pubs and hotels. This is a chance to meet the artists in their studios where they are happy to discuss their work, influences, inspirations, and techniques, with many buyers returning year on year to purchase unique art. This successful venture is still operating in June 2024 when opening members included Brian Coetzee, Jennie Foley, Claire Fried, Reet Gildray, David Gillingwater, Jenny Somerville and Anna Toppin.
