Marilyn Jackson

As Marilyn Anne Lamb, she was born at Woodford, Essex in January 1948, daughter of Leslie Thomas Lamb (22 June 1920-1995) and his wife Joan Augusta née Wells (1922-28 May 2008), who married at Woodford Bridge, Essex in 1943. Marilyn married at Redbridge, Essex in 1969, Robert Peter Jackson and paints under the name of Marilyn Jackson. She studied at Goldsmiths College, gaining a Certificate in Education, Anglia Ruskin University for a diploma, University of East London for a Certificate in Fine Art and at Cambridge for a master's degree. After 35 years in creative and performing arts education and art education based academic research, Marilyn has spent most of her life in Essex, living and teaching in Redbridge and West Essex. She retired in 2007 and came to Suffolk, setting up her own practice and is also a guide for the Sainsbury Centre for the Visual Arts at the University of East Anglia in Norwich. Marilyn paints in mixed media also in acrylic, collage, digital art, drawing, etching, printmaking, and lino prints and her work is rooted in observations of the natural and made world, especially bird forms and circular/spiral forms. Mono printing, dye and resist, photo montage and digital manipulation are used to initiate work alongside drawing, photography, and creative writing. A member of Easterly Artists and a full member of Suffolk Open Studios from Vista, Puddingmoor, Beccles also exhibiting at Swan House Gallery, Beccles; Pond Gallery at Snape Maltings Galleries and Aldeburgh Gallery.
