WATCH HOUSE GALLERY
The Watch House Gallery was run by Margaret Thomas who purchased the Watch House on Orford Quay in Suffolk. This gallery closed in 2016 on the death of Margaret Thomas and placed on the market but was reopened in 2024 on the 150th anniversary of the first Regatta at Orford in August 1874 and the Centenary of the founding of the sailing club in June 1924 and an exhibition was held in the Watch House which included old photographs selected from the Orford Museum archives as well as working models of boats, showing how sailing has changed over this time. Margaret Thomas exhibited not only her own work at the gallery but other Suffolk artists including Patrick Will Baker; Max Clements; Nicola Coe; Guy William Eves; Alice Ridley; Biddy Rose; Honor Surie; Margaret Thomas and Nicola Warner.
