1970 - 2012

King's Lynn Arts Centre

The annual Eastern Open exhibition is held in King’s Lynn Arts Centre, and it invites artist submissions from the counties in the east of England: Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire & Hertfordshire. The 37th exhibition was held at the King's Lynn Arts Centre in 2006, and the tradition and innovation have complemented one another to create the fascinating exhibition including eight prize-winning works. A different group of selectors are invited each year to select work for this prestigious exhibition. The selection panel selected forty-one works for the 2012 Eastern Open exhibition, all were on show in the Fermoy Art Gallery at the King’s Lynn Arts Centre. Suffolk artists who have exhibited with the Eastern Open include Amanda Louise Ansell, Mark Burrell, Derek Chambers, Shirley Lyall Coughlan, Hayley Field, Katherine Frajbis, Terry Jeffrey, Clare Johnson, Malcolm Moseley, David James Quantrill, Katie Sowter and Caroline Wendling. The last Eastern Open seems to have been in 2012.
