Terry Jeffrey

Terence F. Jeffrey was born at Clacton-on-Sea, Essex in 1945, son of Walter Frank Jeffrey (12 January 1914-11 July 1993), a fireman in the Fire Brigade, and his wife Hilda Lilian née Osborne (21 March 1911-7 December 2002), who married at Tendring, Essex in 1936 and in 1939 were both living in Clacton, Walter at Fire Head Quarters and Hilda with her parents at 5 Town Hall Flat. Terry has been a professional artist since 1984, painting in watercolour and oil and has his studio and a gallery at Mile Hill Barn, Kelsale, Saxmundham, Suffolk also owning the Shakespeare House Gallery, High Street, Dedham, Essex. Terry prefers watercolours and oils, and his paintings reflect the local landscape in all its seasons which are representational and impressionist in style with many full sheets in size, with Italy, Spain, Crete, and Portugal to be found within his portfolio. He taught painting in Adult Education and has contributed to ‘Artist's and Illustrator's’ magazine. Mixed shows include Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours at Bankside Gallery; Beecroft Gallery, Southend; Minories, Colchester and Kingston Hill Gallery, Kingston upon Thames. Solo shows include the Dedham Craft Centre, Essex; the Haste Gallery, Ipswich and the John Russell Gallery, Ipswich. He also exhibited at the 'Visions of Sudbury' show at St Peter's Church, Sudbury in 2009, a watercolour 'Connected-Church Street' and in 2012 two works were included at the Eastern Open at Kings Lynn.
