WISEMAN, Caroline
As Caroline Kathleen Sayer, she was born on 12 March 1954, and married in 1986 Garth Roderick Allen Wiseman, but they later separated. Caroline, a qualified barrister who has lived in both London and New York, founded Caroline Wiseman Modern and Contemporary in 1988, since then she has been an international art dealer, living and working in both London and New York dealing in paintings, drawings, sculpture, and original prints by major British and International artists. She now lives at Crag Path, Aldeburgh, Suffolk where she established the Aldeburgh Beach Lookout Arts Club in 2013 and from where she has her exhibition space. A Senior Visiting Fellow at the University of Suffolk, an Ambassador for The Princes Trust, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. Her books include 'Elisabeth Frink Original Prints Catalogue Raisonne' 1998, 'Modern Art Now, from Conception to Consumption' 2006, and 'The Leonardo Question' 2009. In 2019 Caroline founded 'ALIVE in the UNIVERSE' and with co-curator David Baldry presented projects by twenty-eight artists over 28 days at the Venice Biennale. Suffolk artists who have exhibited with Caroline Wiseman Modern and Contemporary include Liza Adamczewski, Val Bright-Jones, Andrei Costache, John Crossley, Lamorna Alice Good and Timothy Shepard.
