GEORGE FARNHAM GALLERY
The George Farnham Gallery at 6a High Street in Saxmundham, Suffolk was opened in November 2016 by Gary Hunter and Michael Light. After successful careers in education and the City, early retirement brought about a partial move from London to Suffolk and a new project. The Gallery is named after George their working cocker spaniel and the Suffolk village of Farnham. The Gallery is a contemporary, warm and inviting gallery that focuses on exhibiting local Suffolk artists work also other East Anglian artists and as far away as London. Exhibitions change every 6-8 weeks interspersed with a 2 week ‘specialist’ exhibition. Private views are usually held on the preceding Sunday of an exhibition from 1-4 pm. The George Farnham Gallery support the local community and has an annual exhibit highlighting the GCSE Students from Alde Valley Academy and more recently the students of Saxmundham Primary School. An associate member of Suffolk Open Studios. Suffolk artists who have exhibited with the George Farnham Gallery include Jane Cochrane, Susan Debnam,Hilary Garner, Thom Hobson, Kit Leese; Patricia Lomax; Norma Read and Joy Wilson.
