Gillian Chaplin commenced her printmaking career prior to taking a degree in Fine Art/Art History and has continued with her printmaking. Her subjects are often locally inspired around Woodbridge and Aldeburgh in Suffolk and draws inspiration from marine and archaeological museums. There is a simple freshness to Gillian's work her prints are made from drawings in her sketchbook which are then cut into the lino to make bold designs. A member of the Ipswich Art Society where she exhibited in 2006 a linocut 'Cliff Face' and a member of Gainsborough's House Print Workshop and has also exhibited at Aldeburgh Beach Lookout Arts Club; ArtLib at Woodbridge Library; George Farnham Gallery, Saxmundham with Aldeburgh Artists Collective and elsewhere.
