Rebecca Guyver

As Rebecca Sarah Moss, she was born in 1961, daughter of Frederick Moss, a financial consultant of New York and Great Cranberry Island, and his wife Janice M. Moss. Rebecca studied at Stanford University 1978–1982, graduating B.A. in painting and drawing and taught art and photography at the Columbia Grammar School in New York and exhibited in the U.S.A. at Artists of Cranberry Isles, Maine; Gallery 52, Boston; The Coffee House Gallery, Stanford and elsewhere. She married at St Gregory-the-Great Church in Stratford-on-Avon on 21 October 1989, Patrick Richard Guyver and spent time as a teacher in Singapore 1993-1998. An English teacher at St Alban's Catholic High, Ipswich 2004-2008 before continuing her studies at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge 2008–2010, gaining an M.A. in Education. Primarily a painter/print maker but also makes artists books and exchanges them in mail art projects. She normally draws daily, often in pastels, mostly from observation and uses these drawings in her paintings, monotypes, and fused plastic collages, using egg tempera for landscapes and to paint people. A New English Art Club drawing scholar when she visited many NEAC members studios and exhibited alongside members in their annual exhibitions. In addition, she works in schools working creatively with children using visual arts and writing with teachers and children making journals and other types of artists' books. She has exhibited at Mall Galleries, London; The Concept Art Space, London; the Pastel Society; Craftco, Southwold; Minories, Colchester; National Print Exhibition, London and elsewhere. A member of the Stowmarket Art Club, Colchester Art Society and a full member of Suffolk Open Studios with her studio at Nayland Farm Studio, Mill Road, Ringshall, Stowmarket, Suffolk from where she will take commissions.
