ALMOND, Jackie
Jacqueline S Poynter studied English at Brunel University 1989-1991 through West London School of Art. She married at East Retford in Nottinghamshire in 1972 Alan Almond and they lived at Rectory Cottage, The Street, Bessingham, Norfolk and their daughter is Lisa Almond. As Jackie Almond a contemporary artist working primarily in acrylic on canvas and board. Her paintings are underpinned by a strong understanding of light, tone and atmosphere, developed through her early career as a colourist of antiquarian prints. This sensitivity to tonal balance and luminosity continues to shape her practice, informing works that balance clarity, subtlety and painterly depth. For many years Jackie divided her time between London and France and she now lives and works on the Suffolk coast. Her paintings have been exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition; Royal Society of Arts; The Gallery Holt; Llewellyn Alexander Gallery; Camden Image Gallery, 174 Royal College Street, London; Hayden Gallery, 23-25 High Street, Marlow and elsewhere in the UK. She is also part of the annual Walberswick Open Studios.
