Sara Muzira

Sara L. Muzira studied at the University of Bristol 1977, for her B.Sc. social science economics and a master's 1978 at London School of Economics and in 1979 a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Manchester Metropolitan University also studying at University of Essex for a master's in Contemporary Art and Professional Practice in 2011 and at City Lit Developing Practice for Makers using Museum collections in 2014. Sara works in the practical process of printmaking, carving out print blocks in lino and wood and allows for working in line and layers. She works on series of monoprints as well as editions making a 'family of prints'. The subject matter is often based on local scenes and stories and following the course at Citylit in London with working with Museums including work about the 'Red Barn Murder', the '1915 Zeppelin raid', and the 'Wolf in the story of St Edmund'. She works both at her home in Bury St Edmund's and at the Gainsborough's House Print Workshop. Sara is a member and exhibitor at Bury St Edmund's Art Society where she was in the chair, also exhibiting at the Halesworth Gallery; Minories, Colchester; Printworks, Wivenoe; Mall Galleries, London; Babylon Gallery, Ely and elsewhere.
