ILSLEY, Anna
Anna Grace Ilsley was born at Hitchin, Hertfordshire in 1982, daughter of John Forres Ilsley and his wife Helen G. née Franklin, who married at Hitchin in 1978. Anna studied at Norwich School of Art 2001-2002 for her foundation Diploma in Art and Design, at University of Brighton 2003-2006 for her B.A. (hons) Fine Art Painting and at the Royal Drawing School 2009-2010 for a Post Graduate Diploma in Drawing. Anna has exhibited internationally, and her work is included in collections including Beijing Capital Museum and the British School at Athens. She has been awarded several arts bursaries and residencies which include International Indian Film Academy in Delhi and STORE, an association of artists, architects and designers working between London and Rotterdam. She delivered talks and workshops at institutions including at the University of Brighton, British School at Athens and Camberwell School of Arts & Crafts and has been Visiting Lecturer at the University of Brighton since 2014 and is a tutor at the Royal Drawing School. Anna has exhibited at Galleri Tom Christoffersen, Copenhagen, Denmark; Asylum Studios, Suffolk; British School at Athens, Greece; 12 Star Gallery, 36 Causton Street, London; Art Station, Suffolk; Terrace Gallery, Lea Bridge Road Library, London; Newnham College, University of Cambridge; Field Projects Gallery, New York and elsewhere. She works from her studio in Bow, London and at Atrium Studios at Ipswich, Suffolk.
