WAVENEY & BLYTH ARTS

2010 - 2025

Waveney & Blyth Arts was launched by Janet Jennifer Dungey (1953-21 January 2022) in November 2010 and in 2017 over 80 creative individuals and members of arts organizations were members. Waveney & Blyth Arts reflected and promoted the rich cultural identity of north Suffolk and south Norfolk through the arts. They supported the work of artists, musicians, writers, and makers in the area, as well as partnering with other arts organisations to build connections between people, the arts, and places by creating art and engaging our communities. They initiated and supported events, exhibitions, projects, and workshops, and collaborated with organisations and artists to bring the arts to a wide audience working across the towns and surrounding areas of Diss, Harleston, Bungay, Beccles, Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth along the river Waveney, and the areas around Halesworth and Southwold in the Blyth valley. Suffolk artists who worked with Waveney & Blyth Arts included Patrick Elder; Rob Harries; Craig Hudson; Marianne Koby Johnson; Sian O'Keeffe; Suzi Pye; Nina Roffey; Surinder Warboys and Ann Woolston. The people and energy that had fuelled Waveney & Blyth Arts for over 15 years finally came to an end and notice of closure was issued on 7 November 2025.
