Michelle Ranson

Michelle Lisa Ranson studied at Colchester School of Art 2002-2005, gaining a B.A. (hons.) degree in Fine Art and Design in 2005 and a postgraduate Diploma in Education then had a career as an art teacher before becoming established as an artist. Michelle uses a variety of paint applications and processes which convey many elements of texture, tone, line, and layers to convey emotions and her work is in the form of abstract canvases with the occasional use of the figure and reference to natural surroundings, being inspired by a range of art movements including abstract expressionism, surrealism, modernism & conceptualism. An exhibiting artist since 1996, at Bury St Edmund's Art Gallery; Cabaret Voltaire, 18-19 Church Walk, Colchester; Goslings Art & Craft Shop, Sudbury; Hay Gallery; Colchester School of Art; Truman Brewery, London; Rivermead Gallery, Chelmsford; Pond Gallery at Snape Maltings; Quay Theatre Gallery, Sudbury; Gallery 47, Sudbury; Ipswich Town Hall Gallery; Digby Gallery, Colchester; Blackthorpe Barn, Rougham, Suffolk; The Forum and at the Royal Academy.
