BLACKTHORPE BARN
The Rougham Estate Trust was established by George Agnew and his late brother John, to safeguard the Estate into the future. Committed to maintaining the Estate’s environment and landscape for the benefit of the public, the Trust also supports cultural and educational initiatives by inspiring young local musicians and preserving the history of the area. The estate includes Blackthorpe Barn which was built around 1550, probably by John Drury, having acquired the manor of Rougham through the dissolution of the great Benedictine abbey at Bury St Edmunds. A beautiful medieval thatched barn which is open when they have events, such as Eastern Angles, Artworks East and their Christmas event including British Crafts, Country Christmas Shop, Christmas Trees, Santa's Grotto and Workshops. Blackthorpe Barn, Rougham Estate, Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk.
