HODGSON, Heather
Heather A. Hodgson was born in 1946. She studied at Brighton College of Art in 1965 and 1979-1980; Goldsmiths College 1967-1970 and Dartington College of Arts 1982-1984. Heather has a Diploma in teaching and is a qualified primary school teacher working for many years with young children. Artist in residence for East Feast 2006-2008 and Bealings Primary School and has worked with Jennifer Hall, running adult art workshops and was a member of the Stone Eye Group. Heather specialises in colour and mixed media techniques, being inspired by her Suffolk surroundings and her 'Sunset, Sutton Hoo' and 'Sutton Hoo-Night Flight', create a landscape of simple outline. She has exhibited from 13 Edwin Avenue, Woodbridge, Suffolk including at New Street Gallery, 38 New Street, Plymouth; Spacex, Bradninch Place, Gandy Street, Exeter; Brighton Museum & Art Gallery, Royal Pavilion Gardens; University of Brighton Gallery; Mall Galleries, London and locally at Peter Pears Gallery, Aldeburgh; Ipswich Art Gallery with solo shows at the John Russell Gallery, Ipswich and elsewhere.
