FULLER, Moss
As Rosamund Moss Steed, she was born at Ipswich in 1937, daughter of Cyril Frederick Steed (16 May 1904-17 February 1978), a solicitor and farmer, and his wife Mary Gertrude Moss Campbell née Seabrook (29 May 1907-31 December 1989), who married at St Mary-le-Tower Church, Ipswich on 15 September 1932 and in 1939, were living at 6 Warren Heath Road, Ipswich. Moss was brought up at Lavenham near Sudbury and Bealings, near Ipswich and studied at St Martin's School of Art and printmaking at the Royal College of Art under Julian Trevelyan (1910-1988), also studying sculpture under Elisabeth Frink and Robert Clatworthy (1928-2016), the former husband of Pamela Barbara May Clatworthy. As Miss Rosamund Steed, a member of the Ipswich Art Club 1959-1962 and exhibited from Ivy Cottage, Great Bealings, Ipswich in 1958, two watercolours 'Young Poplars at Bealings' and 'Circus Stables' and a lithograph 'Back Garden', in 1959 two etchings 'Corn Stocks' and 'Shrubs and Trees'. She married at Laxfield, Suffolk in 1962, Ronald Harry Fuller and they had three sons Mark, Sam, and Jake. They had a joint, Ron Fuller and Rosamund Steed, exhibition of their prints on 2-29 January 1967 at Everyman Foyer, London N.W. 3 but she now works under the name of Moss Fuller. After living at Bristol and Sevenoaks, in 1972, together with her family, she returned to Suffolk, living at Willow Cottage, Chattens Lane, Laxfield where she ran her own etching workshop and workshops for fellow artists and friendly competitors. She also taught at Gainsborough's House Print Workshop, Sudbury and was an early member of the Gainsborough's House Gallery and a founder member of the Suffolk Group of Artists. Moss painted in gouache and watercolours, drawing in the landscape from Laxfield to the sea and exhibited widely including at the Royal Academy also showing in the provinces with solo exhibitions at Gainsborough's House Museum and Gallery and taking part in 'Landscape & Figures' at North House Gallery, Manningtree, Essex. Moss also exhibited with the Suffolk Group of Artists at Peter Pears Gallery, Aldeburgh; Norwich Print Fair; Apex Gallery, Bury St Edmund's and Edmund Gallery, Bury St Edmund's and elsewhere. An associate member of Craftco, Southwold and ran the print gallery and print bins in the shop. Rosamond Moss Fuller died on 26 October 2021.
