BEARE, Peter John
Peter John Beare was born in Lothingland, Suffolk on 26 April 1943, son of Harry Charles Beare (27 December 1895-18 June 1982) and his wife Elsie Violet née Burgess (20 June 1904-1988), who married in Lothingland in 1936 and in 1939 were living at Bears Cottages, Belton, Suffolk. Peter studied at Lowestoft College of Art in display and design before working in commercial art for ten years winning several prizes for display. He later took up fine art and studied with Jeffery Camp and Cedric Morris and, after passing a City and Guilds of London Art School course, commenced freelance, teaching calligraphy and painting workshops. A member of the Lowestoft Art Group from 1959 and was also a member and exhibitor at the Norfolk & Norwich Art Circle 1962-1965 from Lowestoft, Suffolk. Peter exhibited locally and in Norwich and some of his works are in private collections in London, New Zealand, and Australia. Peter John Beare died at 3 Clintock Place, Kitchener Road, Great Yarmouth on 13 September 1991.
