Liz Clark

Elizabeth Ann Clark was born at Norwich, Norfolk in 1952. She studied at Stourbridge College of Art 1970-1971 followed by Winchester School of Art 1971-1974 from where she gained an honours degree in constructed textiles. After obtaining a post-graduate diploma at Goldsmiths College 1987-1989, Liz studied for a printmaking certificate at London College of Printing 1995-1997, gaining her master's at Camberwell School of Arts & Crafts 1999-2001. An artist and teacher, using a range of techniques such as textile processes, printmaking, collage, and stitching. She worked for many years in the fashion industry then taught at Lowestoft College of Art, Norwich School of Art, and the Royal College of Art. Liz's recent lino prints are concerned with the juxtaposition of colour, deliberate pattern and composition and always evoke her textile background. She has exhibited at Cutting Threads, Rural Arts East Tour 2000; Printmakers Council at Studio Voltaire and at R K Burt Gallery, London and at the Wolsey Art Gallery, Ipswich. A full member of Suffolk Open Studios from her studio at Holly Bush Farmhouse, Station Road, Brampton, Beccles, Suffolk.
