LOCKHART, Juliet
Juliet Caroline Lockhart studied textile design at West Surrey College of Art & Design and fine art at the University of Suffolk taking her master's in literature and creative writing from the University of Essex. Juliet is a multi-disciplinary artist, writer, and educator working thematically on individual projects with a focus on producing narratives around people or places, a dominant theme is voices that have been lost or silenced. She works with a variety of materials; paper, fabric or found objects and processes; collage, sculpture, and textiles. A wide research methodology underpins all her work, working with museums, their collections, archives, and art galleries. Juliet was the founder and Artistic Director of Lockarts, in the arts in mental health charity and is a member of Suffolk Open Studios with her studio at Yew Tree Courtyard, Earl Soham, Suffolk. She has exhibited widely including at Ipswich Town Hall Gallery; St Mary-at-the-Quay, Ipswich; Smiths Row Art Gallery; Manor House Museum Bury St Edmunds; Artspace Woodbridge; Anteros Arts Foundation Norwich; Forum Gallery Norwich; Harwich Arts and Heritage Centre, Essex; 54 The Gallery, Shepherd Market, London and at Cavin Morris Gallery, New York and elsewhere.
