Pete Cobb

Suffolk born Peter T Cobb studied art and design on a foundation course at Jacob Kramer College, Leeds 1970-1971 and fine art at Wolverhampton College of Art 1973-1976 where he obtained his first-class B.A. (hons) degree followed by his master's in sculpture at Chelsea 1976-1977. He worked at the University of East London for many years, teaching and leading Fine Art and Design courses, undertaking roles including Dean of Architecture & Visual Arts, Subject Director Fine Art, and Head of Art and Design. Pete Cobb moved from Malvern to Suffolk where he has established his studio, and continues to develop his large scale, site specific, water colour paintings which are usually in the form of fold-out books, and painted in situ, in response to the time, place, weather, and colour. Pete became a member of Gainsborough's House Print Workshop in Sudbury and re-established his printmaking practices and is a member of Suffolk Open Studios from Limberlost, Poy Street Green, Rattlesden, Suffolk. He has exhibited widely both at home and abroad and has works in several public collections, including The Arts Council of Great Britain, Wolverhampton Art Gallery, West Midlands Arts, Tower Hamlets, British Telecom.
