Fairhurst Gallery

The Fairhurst Gallery at 17 Bedford Street, Norwich was first established by artist, restorer, and dealer Joseph Fairhurst in 1949 in Elm Hill, and it moved to Bedford Street in 1976 under the direction of his son Tiz, who also ran its framing business. The Fairhurst Gallery quickly adopted its reputation for working with renowned artists, such as Edward Seago and Alfred Munnings. Joining him was his son, Tiz who in 1976 first developed the workshop where the Fairhurst team still provides bespoke framing, art restoration and conservation services to the utmost quality. In 2015 Tiz Fairhurst retired when Tom Humphries, who had worked with Tiz at the Fairhurst Gallery, took over the business and continued it with his wife Dulcie. The Fairhurst Gallery highlights a vibrant variety of exhibitions, aiming to promote and develop new professional artists and their careers as well as assisting well established practitioners reach new and wider audiences. Suffolk artists who have exhibited with the Fairhurst Gallery include Jamie Clements; Max Clements; Amanda Edgcombe; Gus Farnes; Craig Hudson; Ann-Marie James; Emilia Symis and Brüer Tidman.
