CLOCK HOUSE STUDIOS

1964 - 1982

Clock House

Patrick Ambrose Lewis Heriz-Smith and his wife Audrey Elizabeth Pilkington purchased the Clock House, Bruisyard, Suffolk where from 1964 they converted areas into art studios for local and residential users. From 1979 Audrey and their daughter Bridget Heriz-Smith ran the studios and the facilities were expanded to include an etching workshop, sculpture studio and bronze-casting foundry run by the sculptor Jane Truzzi-Franconi. The Clock House Arts Association was founded in 1982 and ran bi-annual shows for a number of years along with arts council funded residencies, regular talks, events and parties. The Association was later taken over by Laurence Thomas Edwards and supports his work now at Butley Mills Studios.
