Kristina Tonev spent her childhood in the Soviet Union. When Lithuania was liberated, Kristina wished to become an artist but owing to her then current needs she was at first unable to fulfil her ambitions. Coming to England she studied Art and Design at Suffolk New College and in September 2022 Fine Art at University of Suffolk in Ipswich. Inspired by tutor, sculptor Laurence Edwards and by the work of Swiss sculptor Hans Giger (1940-2014) creator of 'The Alien', Kristina took to sculpting. Now a full-time professional artist, specialising in surreal figure concepts in painting. She ran workshops for Coastal Leisure Learning at Waterloo Centre, Leiston, Suffolk to assist adults in the use of acrylic pouring art form. Kristian has her studio in Saxmundham, Suffolk and exhibits her award-winning paintings in Suffolk and worldwide in New York, Shanghai, Rome, France, and London and she offers sculpting commissions worldwide.
