Amanda Dow Thompson

Amanda Dow Thompson was born in Japan and raised in London. She studied at the University of London 1984-1987 for a B.A. English Literature and at Rhode Island School of Design 1991-1994 for a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Painting and she has studied printmaking at the Royal College of Art and graphic design at the London College of Printing. Amanda was an art instructor/teacher in Manhattan, New York City 2007-2018 finally as Head of Visual Arts Department at Dwight School. After returning to the UK, she founded Well Street Studios at 15 Well Street, Bury St Edmund's in Suffolk. As well as showing with Causey Contemporary Fine Art in NYC, she has collaborated with Antonio Álvarez Morán (1959-) and completed a residency and a solo show at the Espacio Moran de Arte Contemporaneo in Caceres, Spain. Her work has also been exhibited at the Royal College of Art in London, the Ronald Feldman Gallery in Soho, NYC, The Grand Rapids Public Museum in Michigan and The Mystic Museum of Art, Connecticut. A member of the Suffolk Open Studios from 15 Well Street, Bury St Edmund's.
