Julie Iveson

As Julie Margaret Stewart, she was born in 1963, daughter of Ian Stewart and his wife Margaret née Meadowcroft, who married in Essex in 1956. Julie married at Colchester in 1998, Richard A Iveson and now works as Julie Iveson. Julie was an international gymnast and represented Great Britain on several occasions and trained as a physiotherapist at the Middlesex Hospital and in 1984 qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist with a particular interest in sports injuries. For several years Julie worked in the NHS becoming Head Physiotherapist at Springfield Medical Centre in Chelmsford. Julie's first private venture was the Frinton Physiotherapy Clinic which, as The Iveson Clinic, moved to Long Melford, Suffolk in 2003, which she runs with her husband Richard. Julie studied art at school and more recently under the watchful eye of local artists such as Vernon Lever and Michele Webber and came to love watching the paint at work and seeing her own style evolve. Her main love is watercolour, although she also works in mixed media and, when not treating patients at the Clinic, Julie relaxes by painting, developing her own style in painting local Suffolk scenes. Julie has exhibited her work throughout East Anglia including at the Iveson Clinic; Breakout, 10 Little St Mary's, Long Melford; Lavenham Art Society; Clare Art Club and elsewhere. Julie is currently [2022] the Chairman of the Suffolk Art Society also the co-founder with Vernon Lever of Class Arts, a local non- profit organisation, organising exhibitions for local artists which held its inaugural exhibition in The Old School, Long Melford in 2020. Julie also works on commissions.
