CLARK, Kit
As Katherine Constance Waller, she was born at Ipswich in 1939, daughter of Revd Trevor Waller (25 November 1904-24 December 1995) and his wife Nora Mary Waller née Morfey, who married at Ipswich in 1935 and in 1939 were living at Debenham Vicarage, Suffolk. Katherine spent her childhood in Debenham and Waldringfield, both in Suffolk where her father was the local rector. She was educated at St Mary and St Anne School, Abbots Bromley, Staffordshire before training as a Nursery Nurse at St Thomas’ Babies Hostel and was a State Registered Nurse at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge. She married in 1964, Joseph Clark and is now known at Kit Clark. After her marriage they returned to live at Waldringfield where Kit spent many happy hours painting with her mother Nora and sister Julia in the Suffolk countryside. To improve her craft in watercolours and oils, over the years Kit has had tuition from many well-known Suffolk artists including June Nelson Metcalfe, Peter Burman, Ken Cuthbert and Yvonne Drewry and her work has been exhibited with the Ipswich Art Club. At their home in Waldringfield, her husband Joe, on his retirement, became a proficient picture framer and from where Kit ran the Waldringfield Art Group.
