WALLER, Nora Mary
As Nora Mary Morfey, she was born at Ipswich on 8 December 1905, daughter of George Alexander Morfey (2 August 1872-10 May 1954), a commercial traveller for W & A J Turner, leather merchants, and his wife Katherine Mary née Mortimer (9 February 1865-24 June 1953), who married at Holy Trinity Church, Ipswich on 23 April 1902. In 1911, Nora was a 5-year-old, living at 54 Foxhall Road, Ipswich with her parents, 40-year-old George and 46-year-old Katherine and her six-year-old sibling brother Wallace Mortimer Morfey and in 1939 they were living at 48 Anglesea Road, Ipswich. Nora married at Ipswich in 1935, Revd Trevor Waller (25 November 1904-24 December 1995), son of Arthur Pretyman Waller. As Miss N. M. Morfey, sje had exhibited at the Ipswich Art Club from 48 Anglesea Road in 1933, an oil 'From the Banks of the Alde' and in 1935 two oils, 'River Orwell from Bourne Bridge' and 'Eric' and as Mrs. N. M. Waller, a member of the Ipswich Art Club 1962-1973 and exhibited from Waldringfield Rectory, near Woodbridge in 1961, an oil 'Waldringfield Beach', in 1962 a watercolour 'February Morning, Waldringfield', in 1963 'Felixstowe Ferry' and 'Frosty Morning, Mill Road, Waldringfield', in 1964 an oil 'Deben Salting's in Spring' and a watercolour 'Waldringfield Beach', in 1965 an oil 'Belstead Brook' and a watercolour 'Early Spring, River Deben' and exhibited annually until 1972 when she had on show an oil 'The Greenhouse Shelf'. Nora Mary Waller died at White Hall Cottage, Waldringfield, Woodbridge, Suffolk on 23 August 1973.
