POOLE, Caroline
Caroline Poole was born in 1954 and grew up in Notting Hill in London. She trained with Nahem Shoa (born 1955) the London portrait artist. Caroline paints en plein air recording the loss of the coastal pines, the cliffs, Second World War defences and the groyne defences all of which are disappearing from the landscape. A Woodbridge, Suffolk based artist who paints from direct observation also focusing on the disappearing coastal landscapes of Suffolk. Caroline’s work has been included in several museum shows in Ipswich, Coventry and Hartlepool and she has exhibited with the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, the Pastel Society and at the Ruth Borchard national self-portrait prize and has regularly exhibited at Gallery East, Woodbridge and at Snape Maltings Galleries and her work is in many private collections.
