CHRISTIAN, Perienne
Perienne Christian was born at Hammersmith, London in 1983, daughter of James B Christian and his wife Elka née Gildin who married at Westminster, London in 1979. Perienne studied at Bath Spa University and at the Leipzig Academy of Art and was awarded a scholarship to study at the Royal Drawing School in London in 2006 and is a master's graduate and where she teaches drawing and printmaking. Working as a freelance art tutor she has taught at many art institutions including the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Tate Galleries, and the Art Academy London. Perienne has worked as an artist in residence at Kensington Palace; Chats Palace, 42-44 Brooksby's Walk, London, and at the Borno Pignano in Tuscany, Italy and she modelled for a painting by the artist Lucian Freud 2008-2011. She has exhibited regularly both with solo shows at Aldeburgh Beach Lookout Arts Club; Galloper Sands; Labomirov-Easton Gallery, Enclave 8, 50 Resolution Way, London; Cube Gallery, 16 Crawford Street, London; Tobacco Factory, Raleigh Road, Southville, Bristol and her many group shows include the Royal Academy; Buckingham Palace and Christie’s in New York and locally at Gallery East, her work is held in many public and private collections. Perienne is based in Suffolk.
