HARVEY, Charlotte
Charlotte Harvey is a daughter of Arthur Butler and has lived in Suffolk for most of her life. She studied on a two-year foundation course at Ipswich School of Art, after which she learned the craft through gallery visits and with her father. An artist and a printmaker, Charlotte works ‘en plein air’ being happiest out in the fields, capturing the fleeting conditions with etching another important field of her art, with the process and the almost translucent quality of the inks. Having moved to Gloucester she is a member of the Gloucester Print makers Cooperative and has produced a wealth of small etchings of coastal scenes and large woodland images. Her work has been exhibited at the New English Art Club and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters; the Wolsey Art Gallery at Christchurch Mansion, Ipswich; Buckenham Galleries, Southwold; Ipswich Art Gallery; The Old Fire Engine House Gallery, Ely; The Museum in the Park, Stratford Park, Stratford Road, Stroud Gloucestershire and elsewhere.
