Michelle Watson originally studied theatre design and worked full time as an arts educator for several years and, with her own artistic practice, limited her time spent in the studio but in 2009 she obtained her B.A. (hons) Fine Art Degree and is now able to dedicate her time and acquired knowledge to her craft. Michelle is an oil artist working on raw canvas due to its textural quality and tonal hue. Her study of the female body goes beyond figurative work and delves into more than form, while keeping a strong perception of structure and has introduced faces to her portfolio. Michelle moved to Suffolk where she is currently being represented by the gallery Art in East Anglia in Bury St Edmund's and a website with Saatchi, as well as retaining a relationship with fellow artists and her private collectors of West Sussex and London. She has exhibited widely including at The Munnings Art Museum, Essex; The Pond Gallery, Suffolk; Zari Gallery, London; Merlina Arts Gallery, Bungay, Suffolk; Artel Exhibition, Oxmarket, Chichester; The Other Art Fair, Brick Lane, London; Art Below, Bethnal Green, London; Colonnade Gallery, Worthing; Lethaby Gallery, Central St Martins, London; Herrick Gallery, Mayfair, London and elsewhere. A member of the Suffolk Open Studios from The Glebe, Thandeston Road, Melllis, near Eye in Suffolk.
