Sarah Muir Poland

Sarah Helen Muir Crombie was born at Westminster, London, daughter of Ian Henry Crombie (25 February 1931-9 December 2011) and his wife Mary née O’Connor (10 August 1931-May 2021), who married at Hamilton Terrace, Marylebone, London in 1955. Sarah married at Chalfont St Giles, Buckinghamshire in 1984, solicitor Simon Devas Poland (13 August 1952-10 March 2003), and they had three children. Sarah Muir Poland became a colourist painter inspired by the colours of East Anglia where they lived part of the year. Her debut exhibition at Aldeburgh, Suffolk in 2015 was successful, followed by a further show in Aldeburgh in 2018, which was sold out. She was invited to join over ninety artists taking part in Art For Cure in April 2016 and in May 2018 at Glemham Hall, Suffolk and has since been a regular contributor to the charity. In addition, Sarah has had two shows in London at the Bankside Gallery and a solo show with Green and Stone Gallery in Fulham Road. In 2017 she was selected to take part in the Society of Women Artists annual exhibition. The Royal Academy in London commissioned her work for notelet wallets which are sold both online and in the Academy shop in London. In 2018 she undertook a lecture tour with Cunard in Art in Colour and was the Artist in Residence. Sarah is an expressionist painter with a love of colour, and her work is widely collected both in the UK and internationally. She has a house and studio in Walberswick, Suffolk where recent work can be viewed, and she is happy to undertake commissions.
