Anne Townsend

As Anne M. Harding, she married at Ipswich in 1974, Digby Roy Townshend, and painted under the name of Anne Townshend. Having explored and experimented with various printmaking techniques, it was linocut, with its clean illustrative lines, which interests her most. The Suffolk landscape provides a constant source of inspiration and Anne uses a room at the front of her house at at 1 Blacksmith’s Cottages, Wissington, Nayland on the Suffolk/Essex border as a studio to produce linoprints and her printmaking. A Member of the Suffolk Open Studios and Anne’s linocuts show fields, hedges, man-made marks on the natural landscape.
