BALE, Sarah
Sarah Bale studied textile design at Chelsea School of Art 1986-1988 before working as a freelance designer, producing surface pattern designs and artwork for several clients but now works primarily with drawing, painting, and digital imagery. Sarah then studied fine art at the University of Suffolk, her coursework included Botanical Illustration and Painting; Anatomy Drawing; The Art of Figure Drawing and a Barque Drawing Course and she was awarded a first-class honours degree in Fine Art in 2016. Her painting 'Quiet but not Silent' was exhibited at Prettys Art, Ipswich in 2015 when she collaborated with botanist and orchid specialist Martin Sanford, which is part of a series names 'Orchidaceous'. Sarah is continuing to develop portraits with a link to the home and the uncanny, which create psychologically charged works and is also a photographic artist. Sarah has also exhibited at Atrium Studios, Waterfront Gallery, Ipswich; Firstsite, Colchester; Freudian Sheep Gallery, Ipswich; Ipswich Town Hall Gallery, Ipswich; Grundisburgh House Gallery.
