HANSEN, Greta
Greta A. Hansen was born at Grimsby, Lincolnshire in 1943, daughter of John Roger Hansen (12 November 1915-14 May 2002) and his wife Patricia Dulieu née Thompson (5 October 1918-7 December 2009), who married at Southend, Essex in 1939. Greta studied at Ipswich School of Art and at the Central St Martins School of Art, London University gaining an Intermediate Certificate in Art and Crafts, NDD, ATC. Greta was an art teacher both in London and in Suffolk for some 35 years and in 1973 became a professional artist. Painting in watercolour, pastels, and other media and after becoming a member of the Print workshop at Gainsborough’s House started etching. Greta has had solo exhibitions in Ipswich and at Haughley, Suffolk also exhibiting at Gainsborough's House, Sudbury; Snape Maltings and many other venues throughout Suffolk and at Holkham and Great Walsingham, both in Norfolk also has had showings at Bath, Rye, and Lincoln. A Member of the Suffolk Open Studios for several years, from her studio at 33 Beaumont Way, Stowmarket, Suffolk and is also a member of the Gainsborough's House Print Workshop and exhibits at Art on the Prom at Felixstowe, Suffolk.
