Greta Hansen

Greta A. Hansen was born at Grimsby, Lincolnshire in 1943, daughter of John Roger Hansen (12 November 1915-14 May 2002) and his wife Patricia Dulieu née Thompson (5 October 1918-7 December 2009), who married at Southend, Essex in 1939. Greta studied at Ipswich School of Art and at St Martin's School of Art and the University of London gaining an Intermediate Certificate in Art and Crafts and National Diploma in Design. Greta was an art teacher both in London and in Suffolk for some 35 years and in 1973 became a professional artist. Painting in watercolour, pastels, and other media and after becoming a member of the Gainsborough's House Print Workshop commenced etching. Greta has had solo exhibitions in Ipswich and at Haughley, Suffolk also exhibiting with the Suffolk Craft Society; the Gainsborough's House Gallery, Sudbury; Snape Maltings Galleries; Mill Tye Gallery, Sudbury; St Mary's Church Debenham; Horace Blue Gallery, Norwich; Maxwell Charnley Room and many other venues including Norfolk, Bath, Rye, and Lincoln. A Member of the Suffolk Open Studios for several years, from her studio at 33 Beaumont Way, Stowmarket, Suffolk and exhibits at Art on the Prom at Felixstowe, Suffolk.
