Patricia Davidson

As Patricia M. Clark, she was born at Sudbury, Suffolk in 1950, daughter of Sydney Thomas Clark (17 February 1920-24 November 2006) and his wife Ruby Rebecca née Oxford (24 October 1924-1998), who married at Sudbury in 1942. Tricia studied printed textiles at Glasgow School of Art followed by post graduate years at University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology and Manchester Polytechnic. Tricia worked as a freelance textile designer and ran a small print business and teaching Fine Art for several years since when an artist based at Old Dairy Studios in Beccles, Suffolk. She paints in a semi abstract manner using paint and mixed media in addition to mono print and drawing working mostly in acrylic but sometimes in oil, using line drawing to describe detail and space and then builds up thin layers and washes of colour, either drawn directly on the surface or creates line with monoprint. Travelling and visiting places does not always lead to paintings but with her notebook, sketch book and camera, to makes notes or very quick sketches which sometimes leads to successful works. Tricia married at Sudbury in 1983, Gavin J. Davidson and work under the name of Tricia Davidson. A former member of the Suffolk Open Studios from her then studio at 14 Evans Close, Reydon, Southwold, Suffolk, and a member of Easterly Artists. She has exhibited at Old Dairy Studios Art Collective Show in Beccles and regularly at the Aldeburgh Gallery also at the Theatre Royal Norwich; Snape Maltings Galleries; the John Russell Gallery, Ipswich, and other locations in East Anglia.
